The customs will first test some CPTPP rules in some pilot free trade zones
Beijing, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) (Reporter Liu Hongxia) The General Administration of Customs (GAC) has learned that some rules of the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will be tested in some pilot free trade zones in 2022.
Ni Yuefeng, head of the General Administration of Customs, said at the recently held 2022 National Customs Work Conference that China will actively promote the construction of an open platform, promote the integration and innovation of customs supervision system in pilot free trade zones, and test some CPTPP rules in some pilot free trade zones.
He said that in 2022, the Hainan Free Trade Port customs supervision framework plan and institutional formulation plan will be implemented, the pilot expansion of the zone will be promoted by "opening the first line and controlling the second line", and preparations for the island's customs operation will be steadily advanced.
He also said China will actively support the construction of Hengqin Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation Zone and study and formulate customs supervision measures. We will review, integrate and optimize the establishment of comprehensive bonded areas, and conduct ongoing and post-operational oversight to a high standard. Performance evaluation of comprehensive bonded areas will be carried out. We will promote the completion of the reform of approval for the establishment of bonded logistics centers and improve supporting systems.
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which China has actively participated in and promoted, took effect on January 1 this year. Our country has also formally applied to join CPTPP and Digital Economic Partnership Agreement (DEPA), which practice true multilateralism with practical actions.
